2010 Dallas Suspension Practitioner Convention

Another year has come and gone for the Dallas Suscon and the improvements we made over 2009 were HUGE. Yes we had some problems, and there are areas that need improvement. However, there is no denying that 2010 was a giant success! Thank you to everyone that attended. It was your hard work that made this event happen.

Here are our final numbers:

• Attendance: 141
  (plus 6-12 others: sponsors, speakers, building staff, etc)
  24 Suspension Groups from all over the US, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, Finland and England
• Suspensions: 105
  (77 people hung once, 11 twice, and 2 people hung 3 times)
  ...and by suspensions we mean all new hooks, not a cut down or a transition or spinning beam to solo
• Pulls: 2

As for an event recap, well what can I say? It was amazing and exhausting. If I had to sum up the event in one word it would be Proud. I am proud of my friends/family/community. People really stepped up their game this year and went the extra mile to make sure everyone had a positive experience. It was truly incredible and inspiring to see people from very different groups working together to teach, learn, share knowledge and improve their suspension skills. In my opinion, the only thing that will make 2011 better is for more suspension groups to participate in this event.
