Over the years I’ve been fortunate enough to travel the world and participate in many different suspension conventions.  As you might imagine, each suscon is somewhat similar.  However, what people may not realize is that there are also many differences in the vibe and overall experience of attending.  Of course the event organization plays a key role in determining how things flow, but it’s the people and location that really makes each event unique.

So what makes the Italian Suscon so different?  After the break there’s a short description and a video from the 2010 event.

Last year I was fortunate enough to participate and lecture at the 6th annual Italian Suscon.  As with other suspension conventions, this event has grown over the years, but the organizers have still managed to keep it a relaxed and intimate event.  I think this is partly due the location in Tuscon region just outside of Pisa.  However, I also feel that it’s the attendees that create the family like environment.  If you’ve never spent time in Italy, it’s difficult to describe the culture, but the best words I can use to describe the crew would be warm, welcoming and inviting. I could write page after page about my experience in Italy, but instead I think well let APTPI video below gives a excellent view into the their suspension convention.
