The word family gets used quite a bit when talking about the suspension community and our relationships with one another. I don’t think those bonds have been any more apparent than in the support and love that has been shown for Arwen and Robby, who were seriously injured in a car accident back in July. This past Saturday, October 9th, a benefit show was held in Oklahoma City for these guys with suspension acts by AGRO Tulsa, Sick Boyz Suspensions, and Aztlan Arts. These groups did an amazing job, and the crowd absolutely loved it.

I have been around these same suspension groups working together before, and I was equally impressed this time around. It is so great to watch that many people working together with no egos or bickering between them. They all pulled together as one team, and you could see a genuine caring between all of the members involved.

For a few of them, it was their first time suspending in front of an audience. You certainly wouldn’t have known it from watching it though. Their positive attitudes and high energy were contagious, and the room was filled with cheers from the crowd. Spartacus and Rick were great ringleaders for the event. They kept the crowd wound up and the suspensions moving smoothly throughout the night.

During the time between suspensions, Dustin kept everyone entertained with sideshow stunts on the main stage. Between the cinder blocks, glass, darts, and staples that he took on during his acts, Dustin literally put blood, sweat, and tears into raising money for this show.

I’m sure Robby and Arwen are already aware of how much love and how many amazing friends they have in the suspension community, and it was wonderful to see so many of them working with each other for this show. Hook Life and all of the individuals involved with this event would like to wish them the best with their continuing recovery.
