Open Suspension Day

Sunday, October 10th, marked Skindependent‘s second open suspension day in New Zealand. This event was open to anyone who wished to suspend, as well as to those who just wanted to come watch the fun. From what we hear, the day was a huge success with thirteen suspensions performed, ranging from suicides and spinning beams to more elaborate suspensions like a chest/knee/back transition and a ten point lotus.

Skindependent Suspensions is based out of Christchurch, New Zealand. Founded in 2008 by Eden and Naith of Absolution, Skindependent offers everything from private suspensions for individuals to live performances and shows. After how well the previous Open Suspension Day went back in July, they decided to host a this second event to again offer people in their area a chance to witness and participate in different types of body suspension. Judging from these pictures, I am guessing this won’t be the last.
