We are a collective of body modification practitioners. We have studied various cultures and we have experienced and analyzed rituals and rites of passage. Our hope is to be able to share, perform, dance, and bleed with like-minded individuals. In doing so, we will be breaking away from the "normal confines of our otherwise mundane reality." Kaptive8 is a mixed medium of body, art, audio, photography, video, and performance. These performances consist of body suspensions,body play,play piercings,blood letting,scarification, exploration of pain thresholds,pain management,body spears,face cages,body cages,hook play,body pulls/energy pulls,tests of strengths, tests of minds ,and overcoming your non average extremes! By following one’s exploration of their own body, and mind, this will allow a release in one’s self-fulfillment. This goal is not just ours but for those who equally share our passions, and by our guidance, and knowledge we are able to bring it to you and yours through this journey. Taking the art of body play from the imagination and from the unknown to bringing it to the forefront of modern society, by means of art, performance, education and multimedia this may reflect better understanding. Proving the truth that only through this knowledge, and acceptance, may we achieve true understanding.......WE ARE YOUR KAPTURES...WE ARE KAPTIVE. Hangman Suspensions

Hangman started of as a group of friends in Hawaii who shared a similar interest in suspension. We are now also suspending in Oregon. Our suspensions are usually held in natural, somewhat private environments with small groups of friends, like minded individuals and the occasional curious party. We all suspend for our own reasons, however varied they may be. The emotions, experiences and bonds created by suspending in a beautiful environment with a group of people all there for the same positive reason cannot be recreated any other way.

We are a collective of local Body Modification Artists and practitioners. We believe the work we do changes the lives of all those around us. Through these rituals we find the support of an entire community devoted to bringing our dreams to reality. We are not freaks and this is not a freak show. We practice our spirituality using the work of suspension as a method to expand our consciousness. Through suspension and body art we have reclaimed our bodies as our own.
We are offering anyone interested the opportunity to gather in a private setting to experience the true nature of suspension work. We will be hosting a by-monthly gathering in the beautiful Dojo space of the Watershed located on SE Milwaukie Portland, Or.
These gatherings are not performance. We ask you contact us through this page to register. We have time scheduled to do 2-3 suspensions per evening in addition to energy pulls, play piercing etc. These events will be organized with the intent of being private gatherings. All attendees must be invited by the people suspending that particular evening. Contributions are asked of all participants, inquire on the cost of individual activities. Attendees are asked to contribute with food and drinks, cause we always get snacky.
We are also available for private sessions just let us know when.
